- Other functional tests to support normal GP findings can include: Adrenal and hormonal assessment and/or Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis testing
- Barnes Basal Thermometer Test – Home test
- Buy a Basal thermometer and take your temperature every morning for 3 consecutive days (best at same time every day)
- Add the readings together and then divide by 3 to get the average reading over the 3 days. If the average temperature is under 36 degree’s celsius you are likely to have low thyroid function. If above 37 it may indicate over active thyroid.
- Menstruating women should test their body temperature only from day 2 – 8 of the menstrual cycle
- Temperature is best taken orally. Put thermometer under tongue for 3 – 5 minutes. If taking the temperature under the arm, allow 10 minutes. (make sure there is good skin contact to get an accurate reading)
- If you have a cold, flu or are unwell it is best to do the temperature another time (as these will increase body temperature)

- Blood tests, blood pressure (in house)
- External blood tests via laboratory to assess the impact of each of the cholesterol molecules to assess potential arterial damage
- Gene testing to view genetic pre-dispositions to high blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar regulation (plus many more)
- MTHFR (blood test. Can be done by your GP or blood can be taken by one of our external health providers)
- Accurate in house testing for blood pressure. We make sure we do both arms as well as sitting and standing. This gives an accurate assessment of not only your blood pressure but possible problems in blood flow around the body. Differences in readings may indicate risk factors for blockages in circulation

- Bio-Impendence testing:
- This test is suitable for people wanting to improve fitness, slow the aging process and also to support weight loss.
- For Weight Loss: By using this test to monitor weight loss, we are checking to ensure clients are losing fatty tissue, not muscle mass. During a ‘normal’ weight loss programme, the body may have a preference for burning muscle. This becomes a less than ideal scenario as the more muscle you lose the greater the gradient of difference between how much muscle and how much fatty tissue you have. Fatty tissue when it gets to a certain percentage in the body becomes a metabolically active ‘organ’ directing your hormone function. This means it will secrete enzymes and hormones to ‘feed’ itself. The body uses fatty tissue as a ‘survival raft’ and is very loathe to burn it, in case there is an emergency. Hence in a normal weight loss programme people might try at home, they will often lose muscle in preference to fat. What does this mean: It means that once they finish dieting, the weight races back on. That’s the fatty tissue panicking and adding to itself.
- By using the Bio Impedence machine we can ensure the client is losing fatty tissue and not muscle.
- Gene testing: We have a number of companies providing genetic reporting. Gene testing can support weight loss, diabetes, inflammation and even to know if you are exercising too much or to help focus on the type of exercise you need to keep you healthy
- If you have already done a gene test, we can help you interpret this to gain better health
- Sleep Apnoea: This test is out sourced to a specialist area. Sleep apnoea can be a risk factor in dementia, heart disease, inflammation and other chronic health conditions
